My Initial Response.

My initial response when I got told that we had the library was along the lines off,  “oh, the library. The place where I slave hours of my life writing essays until the early hours of the morning, consuming endless amounts of energy drink and wishing that I was not there”.

However, when Daniel  started to discuss about how exciting the library actually is, I started to see another side to the library. First of all we have immediate access to the performance space with 24 hour access which, unlike the other groups, is a great opportunity; and to already be familiar to the performance space will only allow use to develop our knowledge further. He then went on by telling us about the brief history of the library and that it was originally an industrial railway goods warehouse called the Great Central Warehouse which will be an amazing stem to go off and research more. Another point that I found interesting is that the library is further extending its foundations to provide new technology to the students of Lincoln and was nicely put as a ‘never ending story’.

As a conclusion, I am very happy that I have the library as a performance space and my initial thought of, “oh God the library”, I now feel like Belle from ‘Beauty and the Beast’ entering her library after the Beast gifted it to her. If you haven’t seen it then I am very happy!
